Nissan Frontier vs. Toyota Tacoma Performance

The base models for the 2020 Tacoma do not perform very well in the power category. Every 2020 Frontier will come with a standard V6 engine and provide nearly twice as much horsepower marked at 310 compared to the standard 159 horsepower 4-cylinder engine in the Tacoma. The Tacoma does have an available V6 engine for the higher and more premium trims giving the driver 278 horsepower. The available manual transmission is present for the 2020 Tacoma, and the 2020 Frontier has removed manual as an option and will have fully automatic transmission on all models. For the V6 engine models, the 2020 Tacoma will get 17 miles per gallon in city and 20mpg on highway. While there have not yet been estimates released for the 2020 Frontier, Nissan guarantees improvement to the fuel economy since the 2019 Frontier line-up. What this means is we will see numbers for the 2020 Frontier gas mileage exceeding 19 miles per gallon in the city and 23mpg on highway.

*NOTE: The 4 cylinder engine in the lower trims for the Toyota Tacoma provides virtually identical gas mileage to the 2019 Frontiers…and keep in mind there WILL BE an improved fuel economy for the 2020 Frontiers (all 2020 Frontiers are stocked with V6 engines).

2020 Nissan Frontier vs. the 2020 Toyota Tacoma

When comparing the power alone, the Frontier is superior to the Tacoma. The 2020 Frontier is capable of pulling up to 6700 lbs. while the base 159 horsepower Tacoma would not feasibly be able to tow that weight. Something else to consider is the blatant durability of this pick-up, with the highest mileage for any Frontier model (a 2007 Frontier) marked over 1 million miles. The Frontier truck design and build only gets improved as time moves forward and as Nissan becomes more and more advanced. Continuing to provide one of the most advanced car lineups in the industry, Nissan makes the effort to spoil their customers and drivers with the finest and greatest vehicles seen today.

Why should I buy the 2020 Nissan Frontier?

Throughout the ages, the Nissan Frontier has proven itself to be a phenomenal pick-up truck that leaves the competition in the dust. The 2020 Frontier will stand at the top as one of the most affordable, durable, and powerful compact trucks there in the market today. Providing quality, comfort, and security to those that respect the luxurious and safety technology Nissan utilizes in their vehicles. Becoming more powerful while enhancing the fuel economy is a big move in itself that inherently conveys how advanced this truck is. The 2020 Nissan Frontier will lead the rest of trucks on the “truck frontier” to establish a new age, a new era. Be one of the pioneers to the 2020 Frontier and indulge in what could be the biggest truck event of 2020 and the years to follow. Come see for yourself at McNeill Nissan of Wilkesboro.
