2020 Nissan Altima Performance

The 2020 Altima has built on the great reputation of Nissan Altima models. Coming standard with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine giving an output of 188 horsepower, while also providing an optional output of 248 horsepower through the optional 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Nissan spoils the driver with the excellent array of customization options, reliable and advanced technology that come standard, and an outstanding fuel economy in the 2020 Altima. Looking at mileage, you can expect an output of 28 mpg in city to 39 mpg on highway for the standard 2.5 liter engine. The 2.0 liter turbocharged engine will slightly lower the distance to 25 mpg in city and 34 mpg on highway. Both engines come standard with Nissan’s Xtronic Continuously Variable automatic Transmission (CVT). The 2020 Altima comes with the optional All-Wheel-Drive on select trims.

Nissan made sure that the Altima is equipped to keep you and your passangers safe. Getting nearly perfect ratings from both the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Nissan helps every driver be sure that they are in one of the safest vehicles on the market.

2020 Hyundai Sonata Performance

This sedan comes stocked with a standard 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine giving a dose of horsepower shy over 190 (191 horsepower). Coming with an optional 1.6 liter turbocharged engine that provides and output of 180 horsepower. This sedan’s fuel economy estimates have not yet been officially released, but based on the 2019 models and the engines capabilities, we are looking at a combined (city and highway) average mileage anywhere from 27 mpg to 38 mpg. Both engines are accompanied with an automatic transmission. Coming standard in Front-Wheel-Drive on all models, as of now, the 2020 Sonata will not be equipped with an AWD option.

As far as safety, it goes to say that every Hyundai vehicle comes with excellent ratings for safety on all of their vehicles, and that will (very) likely include the 2020 Sonata.

2020 Nissan Altima vs. 2020 Hyundai Sonata

Comparatively speaking, the Altima and Sonata are both seen as excellent mid size sedans. Let’s break it down and look at a few details. You will find that for the power output and handling, along with the excellent fuel economy provided with the Altima, you may be more than satisfied with your purchase. Comparing safety, both sedans are toe-to-toe in their ratings/expected ratings. The 2019 Sonata had the better safety than the 2019 Altima, HOWEVER the 2020 Altima evolved in many ways including the safety aspect. As of now there are no official ratings on the 2020 Sonata, but we do expect them to be similar to the Altima when considering how good the Altima’s safety already is. Depending on a variety of features for both sedans, the cost could potentially be about the same, whereas some things can cost more on the Sonata and others will cost more on the Altima. Both sedans can cost anywhere from $20,000 to a little bit over $30,000.
